For the last five years Jumbo Offshore has been building its reputation as a solid installation contractor with a clear focus on subsea structures, mooring systems and smaller jackets and topsides. Our DP2 installation vessels Jumbo Javelin and Fairplayer are equipped with two 900 t Huisman mast cranes. With an enormous deck and large storage capacity these vessels are suitable for installation and transportation all in one go. In addition, our deepwater winches enable us to install equipment as deep as 3,300 meters. That’s what we call ‘Deep Thinking’.

The Engineering Department within Jumbo Offshore consists out of an energetic and enthusiastic group of Engineers and Draftsmen. Together with coworkers from Project Management you will, as a team, be responsible to bring your project to a successful conclusion.

The Structural Engineer works in a project team to provide structural design and integrity calculations. The Engineer is responsible for the timely completion and correctness of project engineering work and is the source of technical information during project preparations and execution. Furthermore the Structural Engineer ensures the engineering work performed is compliant to the applicable rules and regulations.

The Job
• provide engineering support, design calculations, construction drawings, material take-offs, weight control calculations, specifications, procedures and analyses to the project assigned to;
• provide structural stability and integrity calculations for steel frame structures. This includes determination of size, shape, strength and type of structural members;
• provide engineering assistance during mobilization and occasional periods of offshore or site working.

The profile
• educated to HBO / TU level (i.e. Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Naval Architecture or equivalent);
• 2-5 years (applicable) experience in marine industry, preferably in subsea construction;
• experience in heavy lift and transport engineering;
• experience with Ansys is advantageous;
• preferably experience with Offshore Installation;
• ability to work in a project team and across multiple projects;
• social team player with hands-on attitude;
• keen and analytical, innovative and able to change;
• creative, goal orientated, pro-active problem solver.
